On Wednesday, I went for a movie with my "jee mui" friends.....and we watched Eragon (review will be posted up soon :)
It was a fun gathering; snapped some cameo and candid pics of them - to be uploaded soon.
It was not fully an all-girls outing; as we got some of the guys to come along....and who could ever miss out the comical Fook...hahah :D
We watched the movie at BJC(by the way, Cathay Cineplex is truly no match to my fave GSC or TGV....these rock but CC definitely NOT:P )
First,we met up for dinner...and we were supposed to meet up in front of McD for dinner first at 6.30p.m......more pics of McD will be posted up soon :)
Let me tell you my experience of parking in BJC as well......it was definitely so "fun" and confusing....yikes!!
I reached there before 6pm and steered my way up the multi-level carpark.....first, it was already a wrong start, I sort of positioned my car too far away from the ticketing machine....ARRRGHHHH and lucky me, there were no cars behind me and so, this dumb little gal quickly grabbed the ticket with having to open the car door (awwww, really sia sui lar:( )
Then there was this uncle who came over and confirmed with me that everything was okay....hahaha....tell you, I was super embarassed but I don't think he saw it:p
I steered my car all the way up and another thing, who is the floor planner of this carpark?????!!!The turning/bend to go to the upper or lower level was super narrow and I mean it; thank God my car is not that big or long....it is a safety hazard. Space is so constrained and I am really surprised that they actually approved of this width of the bend to proceed to another level....arrrrggghhhh.....if only I was in KL:P
I took my time looking for a decent parking place. That was not really a problem; I found a place and parked. Now the problem I had next was the elevators.....yeah, it's another funny one and sia-sui-ing:p
You see, I am not familiar with BJC...in fact, I don't come here at all if I can help it....I think so far; including this outing, I have been here only 5 times...and that doesn't include me driving...this is my first time to drive myself here.
Okay, I got into the elevator and there was also a man with 2 kids waiting as well.
They wanted to go up and I wanted to go down...so the elevator going down arrived first and I got it; gave them a smile and was on my way.
First, I was about to hit the button but I was looking at the description for each level.
Great.....which level do I want to go now?
I thought McD should be somewhere on Ground Floor or 1st Floor and thus pressed on the button. When the door opened, what greeted me was the view of a carpark and I looked at the menu again....fine...so I closed the door and pressed up this time. The door opened and I saw that man and his kids again...*embarassed*
After a couple of tries, I still see carpark.
Finally I pressed 2nd Floor and again, it was carpark.
Hrrrrmmmpppphhhhh.......then I saw a Malay couple making their way to the other side and so, I made my way out of the elevator and walked across the carpark....and now, I saw the door to the shopping complex!!! *smacks forehead*
Man....tell you, I was like....now I really felt stupid BUT what kind of mall that designs it in such a way anyway!!!!
Arrrrggggghhhhhhhh.....dumb, silly BJC....and what a horrible day here:(
Made my way to McD and I was on time; as usual being annoyingly punctual:p
No one was there lar.....all late....Malaysian time again...sighhhh:(
Texted Chee Leng but then didn't have long to wait as Han Yong turned up shortly and then we talked for a while; waiting for the rest.
And how could we miss out the Fook??? :)
This Fook got the whole gang laughing hard when he actually saw a gal and this guy (I don't know who she is:P ) but he reached for his cell immediately and actually called and talked to another friend....guess what did he say?
Fook: Wei, your gal is here......tell you something hor, she's with another guy....
Fook: I don't know, they are now at the counter buying something......together. And don't know whether they are sharing a set meal or not....huh, see lar....told you already...now people courted her dy....
Fook: I don't know whether they are a couple or not; maybe her brother lar....
Fook: See lar, told you so....work OT somemore lar....work so hard and earn so much for what when people take your girl away....
LOL....hahaha....I really can't stand it....and so, who said girls are the worst gossipers?
Hahaha......
Then we proceeded to this little gift shop in BJC which sells loads of gifts and souvenirs as some of the gals wanted to get some gifts for their little Xmas party and the gifts exchange session.
Loads of cutie stuffs and they are so adorable......and everything's so Christmassy:p
Then we went for the movie....and on the way, we passed a bunch of rowdy kids (and yes, they yelled, shrieked, screamed at the top of their voice and at the same time, running ...thus carrying their voices along with them:p ) However, Hooi Li (one cool gal), she just naturally turned and shushed them....yeah, just like that.....really suave and cool:)
Hahaha....we laughed as she did it so naturally...like it was nothing to her....did it quieten the kids? I don't know...I only remembered laughing so hard:p
Oooooo....one thing I need to mention was the restroom in Cathay Cineplex....DISGUSTING!!!!
Arrrrggggghhhhhh.......YUCKY alert.....!!!!
It was really DIRTY...all the toilets are non-flushable...and YUCKS.....let me just forget about it.
As we went into the cinema, I didn't really like it...it was not the cosy and cinema-like type like GSC and TGV (yeah, I shouldn't compare) BUT, really, the level of the seats were just placed without much difference in the height...I think it was quite low compared to GSC which sort of put each row of seats in a considerable elevated height ....so that everyone can see the screen comfortably.
Anyway...Eragon was surprisingly not bad....as mentioned, I will put up another review :P
In short, I liked it...and I will be getting the books I think....hehehe :)
And my jee mui played matchmaking again....sighhh..what else is new and placed me to sit next to the guy....I am not going to mention his name here...
Another thing was that somehow the cinema noise level was slightly higher compared to the other two I mentioned earlier; well, after looking at BJC...what can one expect? (no offense meant)
After the movie, we were supposed to proceed to our next destination which was the Thumb Cafe in Pekaka. First, we had to get our cars (most of us drove ourselves since we all come from different directions) and we proceeded to the car park.
I followed Fook and Han Yong while the others then realized our missing presence and then they started laughing at us....sighhhh
Well, I reached Thumb Cafe in no time...I used to stay near that area before this and was pretty familiar with that place.
It was a cafe with in-house live singing...the guy was not too bad...his voice lar, I mean:) And I do know that this cafe belonged to one of my ex-boss's friends....or his "daughter"...hahaha:)
They had an extensive menu for drinks and I was pretty intrigued by the ice-blended drinks they had there too (have I mentioned that I love Ice-blended drinks?:P )
So, I was looking at the menu and Fook started with all his jokes again.....
I ordered one of the Thumb's Special which was the Sky of Taipei which is made of Honey Dew, Honey, Ice Blend and Jelly.....not bad ooo:)
We chatted and then Izwan came and joined us....then it got more fun:)
Everyone kept pestering him to sing....hahaha...and they did mention to the waitress and the in-house singer who was initially a little reluctant but relented finally.
Oooo.....this Fook and Chee Leng kept making dedications...hahaha....and the thing which surprised me was this; the in-house singer told us that he did not prepare for the songs beforehand and I was like, HUH?
Do you need a major preparation? In that case, they don't have to open up for dedications as they need to prepare...it sounded more like a concert or show type...that you already preset your own programs....
Sighhh.....even the gang was a little unimpressed by his frequent mention of not prepared....and so, we tried to get Izwan to sing for us:)
By the way, I noticed that there were not a lot of people in the cafe....hmmmm, seems like business's not too good....I wonder...coz I find it a nice and cool enough place for any hang out or just chillin out:)
So, we had this game which we played in our GPTW offsite as Izwan was late that time and was not in the game....so, they asked him personal questions...hahaha...again lar:p
This was the 2nd level ice-breaking game...coz most of us have known each other like more than 1 year????:p
Izwan: What kind of questions am I gonna be asked? personal...
Everyone told him it was rather personal while laughing so hard...but Fook, was talking to him soberly and yet managed a straight face which got us laughing even harder...tak boleh tahan him lar:p
Fook: Nolar....just surface question.
Then we were deciding how we want to have the panel of judges and the determining of pass and fail...whether we are happy with his answer....and it was decided that Lee Hua and I...haha; one in green and the other in Pink to indicate the status - green for pass and pink(resembles red) will be fail...hahaaha:p
The minute they started asking the first question: When's your first kiss? How old were you?hahaha....and Izwan was gaping and went like "That's NOT surface anymore...."
Hahahaha.....only you believed Fook:p
Then most of the questions they asked was trying to get him to mention our Miss P's name whom they always try to match the two...both were Malays and pretty cool ones and were rather similar in height as well:)
However, even when they asked him if he were to choose a girl in our group or even within the company, who would he choose and he mentioned another girl's name....hahaha....and of course, not satisfied....they wanted to punish him:p
He was made to sing a song...with Fook kept saying he was Malaysian Idol...but a disqualified one...hahaha....
Izwan finally went up the mini stage after much persuasion and then sang...joined by the in-house singer. His first song was by Man Bai...Ilhamku....man, this guy can really sing...expressively:)
They even did the waving and the crazy fans thingy...LOL....and then they started saying we should be passing out judges' comments as in Malaysian Idol....
"You have the voice...but you chose the wrong song"....LOL
After that, Izwan somehow got into the mood and then continued with his second song; Uptown Girl....hahaha, guess he struck the chord synchronously...music people would get what that meant;)
By then, they were shooing him down (not the cafe staff but Fook lar...) and told him
"Ooooi....cukuplah...nyanyi lagi...."
Hahaha.....
Izwan left early...but this guy has his own band; Paku which will soon be making their way to Berjaya Times Square on the 27th January 2007; for his first live gig.....yeah...Cheers for Izwan!!!:)
We continued fooling and chatting around until it was 11pm when we left as we had work the next day....
great hanging out with you guys....:)
I drove home and tell you this, at the flyover from that Sg Nibong heading to Bayan Lepas and Relau, I was overtook by a motorcycle.
However, I sensed that motorcycle was looking at my car and trying to slow down for me to catch up.
Sensing that, I drove even more slowly....I was starting to worry a bit....you know about those Mat Rempit stories...and then when we were reaching the junction, he slowed down; trying to figure out whether I will go straight or turn....I purposely crawled and then i guess he just gave up and went straight...while me, I finally put on my signal and turned:)
I don't even dare to imagine what could possibly happen if I were to go straight that night....
Anyway.....it was overall fun and a prior Christmas gathering....
One thing though...please don't go to BJC for movies anymore??:p
