Constructive Confrontation

I attended this class today; which was scheduled to be on Monday but was cancelled due to poor attendance which was also partly caused by the bad weather; it was raining very heavily on Monday morning.

Well, guess there's always a silver lining beneath every cloud...this class was definitely fun!!~ The instructor was so cool...basically added to spicing up the class teaching and learning environment. They should definitely have more instructors like these; gets the class going and makes everyone eager to participate in the sharing and discussion. Sometimes it's just the little things that gets a person or a class going:)

Now, constructive confrontation basically revolves around the process of making yourself heard and how to confront a problem or to talk to your peers and superiors in an effective way, making yourself heard and at the same time, not offending others. This particular instructor is pretty funny and I find it amusing that he used the examples of couples; somehow the men and women relationship topics always works in attracting the attention. Pretty interesting and hilarious....he brought up this issue of a married couple; an accountant wife and a civil engineer. The wife vowed to be a good homemaker and thus prepared the meals for the husband daily after work. However, one day, the light bulb in the kitchen broke. The wife, on the other hand decided not to tell the husband and cooked under the dim light. Her intention? To test the husband's sensitivity to her and how much he cared about her.

To her dismay, she ended up cooking under that condition for a month. Finally, she resorted to directly confront her husband and to question his ignorance to the matter. So, this is where we have to think; why do these 2 people have such difference in their thinking?

There were all sorts of answers coming from the class(of course); one being that women always make a big fuss out of little things, family background or upbringing environment, men tend to be more direct and straightforward while women prefers the beating around the bush approach, the husband does not go to the kitchen( conservative values), etc etc.

The answer? (This is based on a real-life situation) - The husband was brought up in a single parent environment with a widowed mother who man handles all matters at home and her main focus was on the kids to be equipped with the proper education for a bright future ahead. As such, they do not meddle with the little chores at home which will be handled by her. With the cultivation of this mindset, it is of no surprise that the husband only prioritizes on his career and achievements and does not put his mind and finger to the matters at home since he was used to his mom taking care of matters like these.
The wife, on the contrary, is brought up in a conservative environment and thus had the mindset instilled that men are to do all the hard work while women do all the cooking and washing.

So, you can see that this all actually attributes to the environmental effects and also the culture.
Confronting sometimes may not be rude or loud; it's actually a channel for communication. When we confront, we are actually letting the other person know what we think or how we feel instead of assuming everyone knows.

Besides, to be able to communicate is better than not....so who cares about arguments and quarrels?
I still remember back in high school; the motto that the scouts held was "Never argue; nobody ever wins an argument"....hahaa....maybe they should take this class....if you never argue...you'll never know:) Most importantly, argue with an objective and know clearly what you are arguing about...else, why waste time?

Cold and Freezy

Warm and fuzzy...is definitely not the word to describe the recent weather. In fact, I was feeling so very cold in the office; hmmm....the rain and cloudy weather probably brought the temperature down....and instead, I am feeling cold and freezy. <*sniff*>

Working in an office for more than 10 hours does not help at all...since you are cooped in the space constantly freezing yourself...brrr...
I am currently wearing a black sweater and still feeling cold; but, I don't think it's raining out there.

This morning a parcel arrived and when I opened it, the dust started flying around....*cough*....yeah, and I have a sensitive nose which could probably cause my difficulty in breathing...poor me:(

Better get back to my training practicals....as my mentor has mentioned this morning..hehe..:)
Pretty happy that mentor is happy with my progress and he's also touched and impressed with my commitment...haha, and he's making fun of me; since I went to the office at 5am on a Saturday morning just to attend his training session which was scheduled earlier. He was pretty guilt-ridden over it...pretty sure of himself spoiling my Saturday. I sent him an email to make him feel better and now he tells everyone in the world I am a hardworking gal who goes to work super early...LOL :D

Red shirt/bag baby:)

Hehe...I got another new nickname from my big boss today...he's always around to tease me...and he likes telling everyone about the color of my attire. He's kinda fascinated and definitely amused with the different colors of attire I put on daily.

Well, probably kinda catchy too since I usually go in matching colors from top to toe and as if that's not enough, I will match it with the stuffs I have and also my accessories..hehe, but one point though, I don't do it to attract attention; I do it for my self-satisfaction and happiness. Hehe...it is to my own content;)

So, he went calling me the red shirt baby or the red bag baby....I find that kinda cute...haha:p Maybe I liked it too...hmmm... *wink*

Today is red...actually today's kinda happy too although it didn't started off too good this morning...I was supposed to be in Penang campus for a training. Also it rained very heavily...which was pretty cool;).....but then due to that too, the training was cancelled as the attendance was way below the expected statistic.
Not that I was too disappointed although I have to reschedule my training again:p
Anyway, I did quite a lot of writing today as well....which I'd say was pretty cool...I did my write-up and also updated my blogs and some of my profilic materials and compiled the data needed for my weekly meetings. Pretty much, I got some of my work done as well:)

It's very very cold though today....so even if I am in red, hahaha...it doesn't make me feel hot or warm at all...:P

Pain

Oh a sudden sharp pain
Ouch! I cried out but in vain
The pain is unbearable
and it makes me uncomfortable
I think I might faint
for even a saint
could not endure such pain

There it goes again
forcing itself up the vein
When will it go away
I heard myself often say
it comes when it may
and today happens to be its day

Remember to eat everyday
Is what everyone used to say
and they will say it again and again
as long as I have this gastric pain!

Slowly it will go away
as what I always pray
it will never be here to stay
this I can definitely say
so I'll just bear for today
and tomorrow is a brand new day!! :)

Gastric

I had dim sum yesterday morning...after my routine of buying fruits from the market for my week's supply. I went to this marketplace in Lorong Kulit; not alone...I used to do that..since a friend recommended me that particular place but not so anymore. This friend...ermmm...should I say special person...banned me from going there alone anyhow...so I'd had his company in going to buy fruits most of the time. Actually, the Lorong Kulit is kinda complex and also a Malay domestic area; sort of their domain. . My point is just being, it's not too safe or appropriate for a girl to go there alone due to safety issues...furthermore there are lots of the Malay guys on motorcycles and punky types.....enough said:p

So, after buying my fruits, we went for breakfast together....usual one; dim sum since he knows I like to eat dim sum....shoulda give him credits for his sweet memory most of the time. At the same time, it's not too hard to remember what I do eat huh, since I am pretty selective with my food....as a friend was once quoted for saying, "It's easier to list down what you do eat than what you do eat...the list's definitely shorter". Hehehe.....should I say it's true...well, let's just leave it at that;)

Okay, so back to this dim sum place; originally we were heading towards this dim sum restaurant we have yet to try near my place; in the Pekaka area; this Maxim restaurant. However, it was too highly packed(seems like it's always crowded each time) thus I proposed to go to the quiet dim sum restaurant in the Tanjung Bungah area. He's always so patient....and to him, distance is never a problem as long as we're happy...so being the nice guy, he immediately changed his direction and drove us there:)

Anyhow, we ate the dim sum, mostly what I like to eat, courtesy of his selection. However, I found one which was quite oily when I bit on the wrapping...yikes...and my stomach can never take oily stuffs:( He took that away from me and urged me to try the others which i did and even got my little plate changed. However, seems like most of them are pretty oily. I was a little worried about gastric....previously I had a bad bout of gastric after eating at this same place also. He was pretty worried but I assured him I'd be fine..dun wanna get him worried:)

However, true to my predictions, late in the afternoon, I had a bout of gastric and it was a sharp pain:( I didn't have anymore of my medicine with me now.....*sob* so I had to endure the pain. I had some gastric pills which Dad gave me during my last trip home but I was reluctant to try it as I have never try it before. Yeah, call me cynical or stupid but I typically conform to my own comfort items..so I endured the pain..and "suffered" for the rest of the day:(

Poor poor me...gastric is so not fun:((

Pink Princess Week

Pinky pinky....I have been wearing pink for the whole week...hahaha....or should I say a little pink element is attached to my daily attire:p

Since Sunday, I just reviewed that I have been wearing either Pink or red(which also contains some minute hint of pink in it). Guess this is the Pink week for Princess, huh? Haha....well, I haven't been wearing pink to work for the past 2 weeks...since I noticed everyone teased me about wearing pink or red....but now, I noticed they teased me no matter which colour I wear since I have this particular habit of matching my attire from top to toe with the color for the day. Haha...don't you think that's cute? Hehe.........from hair accessories to earrings to watches and shoes....even bags sometimes :P It's pretty fun to do that, after all, isn't that a girl's way of life? That's why they often say, a girl can never have enough of clothes and shoes...and that, I second :)

So, today's finally Friday, the last working day of the week; hehe...and TGI Friday's...hmmm, too bad they do not have TGI's here in Penang....hey, they don't even have TGV ler :P Hehehe...in case you think I've gone out of my mind with these acronyms, TGI is Thank God it's Friday and it's a restaurant here in Malaysia...actually it's pretty well known considering it originated from the States. As for TGV, it's just a local cinema name, referring to Tanjong Golden Village....it's quite popular besides GSC; Golden Screen Cinema chain of cineplexes in town. Sigh....how I miss good ol' KL which has both of this cineplex name :(

Okay....princess has to do some work-related writing; yup, some follow-up emails and also the minutes for the meetings I hosted this morning.
Signing off from my lil' diary...and have a pink day :)

Orange gal today :)

Today, chirpy as usual...and the colour for today is orange.
Yup, my orange and white striped shirt from Chinese New Year which my mom told me to buy.
Initially she wanted to pay for the shirt but I insisted, "Hey mom, I'd be the one to buy you clothes now". She saw this shirt in KL before Chinese New Year and liked the brightness of the colour immediately.

To cut the long story short, I am kinda orange-y today...:); with an orange-coloured watch(one of my favourite), hair band of the same colour(hair is pulled back into half-ponytail)...oooh, and even the strap for my employee id card is the same colour <*wink*>

Hehe...orange is also one of my favourite fruits....kinda hard to live without oranges...told you I am an orange girl. I'd gotten an orange sweater as well; to make the set complete. Hmmm...I am gonna start looking out for more orange stuffs. Actually when I was in my first year in university, somehow most of the stuffs I bought for my new room in uni were orange in colour; bedsheet, wastepaper basket, blanket, little plastic rack, cup, etc etc. Hehe...mom somehow got that instilled in me when she decided to go for "all-orange" stuffs to ease the identification of my personal belongings.

Somehow, now my brother is also into this colour...for me, I am always into bright colours...:)
Bright means happy anyhow; BUT...big but here, this doesn't apply to the bright bright sun.....that's so scary....and definitely destructive to my health:P
I just posted an entry in my other blog on the beautiful moon which I've noticed for the past 2 days and I even wrote a poem in the moon's honour.

Seems like I am finally back in my poetic mood....which is really cool; I am kinda inspired today; even to the extent of writing a story....tippety, I am finally back to my literature personality!!...

Okay, the end of the orange transcript.....look forward to my orange later :)

Girly stuffs...

Being my personal blog diary, I'd say that it will be a lot of my girly giggles,(hehehe...there goes the hyena-like giggles....better stop or else may be endless:P ), little girl talks, whispers of the heart, etc etc.
All from the mind of a girl....soul searching huh? :P

What are the girly stuffs? Well, common stuffs which are detested or permanently avoided by guys... and giggle giggle ...

Alright, in short, this will be princess's talk...as she pleases...:) :p
Shopping, eating(hmmm....AIR I suppose:p ), places, daily activities....bla bla bla....

Diary of a little princess

Hello.....a page for my own personal soul searching...hehe, a little self-talk and blogging of the pieces of my mind daily....erm, as often as possible.

Hmmm...pink huh? Hehehe....of course, one of my favourite colors since young...hey, don't they say girls love pink; not all girls though and yes, I am in one of the "pink gals" category...pinky pinky....and isn't this all princess-like? <*wink*>

Yeap, my very own princess diary....everyone calls me a princess....at work, at home....among my friends. It may seem that I am a high and mighty person; possibly a little haughty....hmmm,but I don't think so though :( I may not be the nicest person in the world, but at least I think I am not that mean either:p

So, another peek into the name of the blog...what does the DPCS stands for? Hehe...now, that's the interesting bit; composed of a few adjectives which describe me...thought up by a particular person. Initially I thought it sounded like some kinda technical product or technology...and well, I learnt to live with it....hehe, but am I gonna reveal the acronym here?

Hmmm...nah, let's just leave it a secret for my safekeeping :)

That's the end of the first royal transcript of the little princess.....let's bow and leave the court :)
