CNY in Penang...

Stuck here in Penang for CNY....sighss....if you have read my Angelstar blog, you'd probably have known why I am not home in KL (*sob sob*)
I was working until 7pm on the eve of Chinese New Year's eve....the 29th day in the Chinese Lunar calendar and every single person hailing from other states have already gone home or were on their way....and I was stuck on the island working my way through to get my project ready:(
Sounds like a miser and pathetic, ain't it? I am really frustrated but at the same time, to see it in a positive light, I will not have to do so much after the festive holidays...so there's a gain after all....well, as the saying goes, No pain, no gain.
I should view my hard work as a form to reap success and the harvest of a golden fruit...haha, that'd sound super positive and everything sounds possible:)
Since I couldn't make it back home to KL and Mum and Dad didn't want me to rush all the way, they proposed to drive up to meet up with me; as in last year's plan as well. (though I badly wanted to be home first....you know, celebrating CNY in KL is more like a homely affair...get what i mean?)
Well, it was one of the longest wait ever and I am not exaggerating it....I was waiting all day long for my family to reach on the eve of Chinese New Year. They were stuck in that much-reported traffic jam from KL heading northbound...and it took them more than 8 hours to reach Penang.
I went shopping while waiting but somehow, even shopping does not cheer me up anymore as I anticipate their coming anxiously.
Their arrival time was predicted to be approximately ~8pm (yeah, it was that late for my dinner....and that local colleague who forbade me to go home probably already had her reunion dinner happily :( .....Not to be mean, but building or dismissing others' happiness atop others' misery...does that makes you happy? Truly, as what the priest mentioned during his sermons in church, people today are selfish and very self-centered...only they themselves matter, others can be ignored.)
Finally, all dressed up...too bored....and I had a bad bout of gastric pain earlier, swallowed those pills and now waiting for them to arrive :)
Yippeeee....I can finally meet them.....peace.....and Gong Hei Fatt Choy to all of you....ooops, since I am in Penang, let's do a verse in Hokkien : Keung Hee Huat Chye!!
