Mummy's birthday

Once upon a time in September....which was a month ago...I know I know but I haven't had time to blog this and also, I didn't have Internet access at home anyway at that time to do any blogging and plus, I had loads of stuffs to complete at that time...bla bla bla..
Anyway, my beloved mummy's birthday was last month and my brother and I, being the mischievous ones (I prefer to call ourselves creative or ingenious *winks*) hatched up a plan for her celebration. We were going to celebrate it earlier during the weekend since my brother will be home from the campus during that weekend.
As for me, I am more of a stand in and undeterminable presence as I went home the previous weekend and fell sick when I went back to work. Therefore, my parents did not really agree to me coming home again.

Anyway, I was to be the mysterious person to turn up at the last minute. My brother will be getting the birthday cake...hehehe....sort of good task delegation, huh :D
The following are the tasks to be completed:
1. Birthday cake - Bro
2. Birthday present - Me
3. Birthday programs - Bro
4. Photos - Me and bro
5. Restaurant (for celebration) - Dad/Bro

So, we had to carry out our assigned tasks respectively in different parts of the country (haha...me up north mar:p )
As arranged, I was to go home on Saturday morning since my dear will be the one to drive me home. Initially I was to go home on Friday night; but it was just as well since my absence and non-returning will make mom and dad think that I won't be home anymore.
Arriving at about 11am on Saturday, bro picked me up and then we headed off to purchase the cake...yeah...talking about efficiency :p

We picked the tiramisu cake which mom seemed to be in favour of recently.
Then we scouted for some interesting restaurants around and were deciding between the cuisines as well; Western or Oriental.
We saw this interesting restaurant in Menjalara which read Old Place and we were fascinated by the interior design of the restaurant.
It was pretty quiet (probably due to its remote location) but we were intrigued by the ambience and the amiable surroundings.
Then after more scouting and discussion, bro told me that we can go to 1 Utama; which was his initial plan.....(all the time wasted in the stuffy car for his initial plan!!! grrr....)
Then we headed home...haha...that was the funniest part. Since I was actually sitting in front, I will be facing the risk of immediate exposure to my parents when we reached the house. Thus, upon approaching our street, I had to go to the back seat and crouched under the seat to hide behind the passenger's seat in front. However, my bro told me another great thing; he forgot his house keys. Well, well, well.....he had to honk to get my dad's attention or rather, help to open the gates for him. Then we knew that my dad is bound to see me by then since our car will pass through the gates and he will be able to see me.
Whistle....he didn't spot me!!! Hmm...means my masquerade must be pretty good...or Dad was just too occupied in his thoughts:p Whichever it is....Yoohoo....so bro got down naturally and solemnly while I silently descended and crept behind my dad and said hi. Hahaha....the casual greeting gave my dad a pleasant and abrupt surprise but we shushed him immediately; putting a stop to any potential questions as we need to make my presence as discreet as possible.
Apparently mom was in the bath at that time and was just exiting from the bathroom. I caught a glimpse of her at that time and quickly hid behind those cupboards in the hall (thank God for my brilliant idea to shift those cupboards to partition between the dining and living area last Chinese New Year...hehehe)
Well, bro had to reveal his surprise eventually so that I can take my bath and relax and so, he yelled for mom's attention that there's something wrong with her plant in the garden (mom loves her plants :) Mom took some time to come from the kitchen and bro (with some help from Dad) raised the urgency stint in their voice and practically dragged mom out of the kitchen immediately. Of course, she had to pass the living room and she saw me...haha, shocked, surprised and happy! Surprise surprise!! :D:D
Then we talked for a while (asking/interrogating about my return mode of transport and the person who sent me home, etc - all about my dear whom I will talk about in my other blog...hehe) Subsequently we proceeded to 1 Utama - everyone immediately dressed up for the mood and to cut the long story short, we decided on the restaurant while in 1 Utama itself.
Finally we decided to try out this cute little diner-style cum coffee house place we spotted in the tropical lush forest area - Jack's Place ( oops, sorry, I forgot to take pictures here:( )
They serve Western cuisines and also set lunches; which also happened to be mom's favourite :)
Seems like things are going well unplanned...haha
Also, fortunately, the recommended menu item for the day was fish :) (Initially, if I am not coming home, they planned for Kenny Rogers' since mum wanted to try it out for some time )
So, we ordered our sets respectively which also came with garlic sticks, butter, soup of the day, dessert and coffee/tea. All of us ordered the dory fish with honeyed sauce with the exception of dad who opted for the steak (well done). Guess dad didn't really like the steak though....but our fish was tasty :) Pretty decent restaurant actually which I do want to patronize again the next time and blog in my food blog :) This time I will make sure I took the pictures..hehe:D
We spent some time shopping and then headed home while planning for dinner.
So, we made reservations for a Thai Restaurant we tried with Uncle Henry before in PJ and prepared to go out. We had a decent Siamese meal; with sweet, sour and spicy stuffs :p
We ordered the Seafood Tomyam, Pandan chicken (which was horrible; tough, according to everyone since I do not eat meat; moreover chicken! :p), Sambal sotong (this was not bad), Stir fried Kangkung(Water convulvus) with Belacan and also a Thai style steamed fish.
(Also no pictures, sorry)

After sedinner, we went home to proceed with the cake-cutting ceremony :) We sang the songs for mummy and also took loads of pictures with her....then we stayed chatting at night...a great family bonding day and mummy was especially happy; she told me, since she had both of her kids home and everything was so nice that day

~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY!!! ~
