Finally, my collage is ready....and I can steal a few glances back to the year 2009...a year that just left us a week ago.
Looking back at the year it was, it was definitely one full of surprises, events and of course, challenges; not to mention lots of fun as well along the way.
Life's like that anyway, we can't expect it to be a bed of roses, can we?
I definitely did not tread on a bed of roses last year....but there were things worth learning from and to improve...
Now, 2009 in review...
1. An old friend of mine got married on my birthday =) So, I will sharing my birthday with her wedding anniversary every year now...
2. For the first time in my life, I actually fell sick on my own birthday, which upset me pretty much but, as I've vowed to be very happy on my birthday, I didn't let it bother me at all! =D
(I do hope that it will NEVER happen again!)
3. I finally found a nice place with nice housemates during my job tenure here back in Penang and I love the place!!
4. Whip up own steamboat at my own place...and I also learnt to cook barley, red bean and green bean soup, and also lotus seeds with snow fungus *PROUD*
5. Exercise around my block; it was really FUN!! =) I want to maintain a good and healthy lifestyle~
6. Said goodbye to Botanical Gardens before they removed most of the plants from the garden.
7. Farewell to the curls I got last year; no more curls for me. My hair is finally back to being its natural straight and I've even had a few haircuts last year; the shortest being towards the end of the year =P
8. Experienced successes and downfalls in my own career; and was assigned to tasks with more responsibilities which included handling a few major key accounts for the company.
A new experience; new things to learn.
9. Voiced out dissatisfactions at work; and to fight for my own rights.
10. This is one bad one; left my blog idle for a while =(
11. Started two new blogs; My Thoughts and my Words and also From Angelstar's Shelves. One is for my serious views on whatever is happening around us (article-based with a strong opinion) and the other is for all my beloved book reviews.
12. Gotten myself a whole armload of books with all the crazy book warehouse sales around last year.
I was definitely more than happy to add new books to my shelves!~
13. Caught up with most of my old friends; university mates, primary school friends, high school, and ex-colleagues!
It was definitely fun and enjoyable!~
14. Had a few moments of unfairness at work and also frustrating times!~
15. Attended more than 5 of my friends' weddings.....WOW!~
16. Was invited to a few food tasting session and enjoyed meeting all the other floggers/bloggers around Penang! They definitely ROCK!
I feel like I am an official blogger out of my blog already...hahaha, with all these social sessions.
17. Approached by advertisers and travel blogs to write articles and linking to my blogs. I've even had suppliers requesting me to test their products.
It was nothing big actually, and unfortunately, it didn't work out that ideally after all due to a few minor issues.
Nevertheless, I am happy to see these requests =)
18. I have FAN mail!! Yeahhh...I actually received emails from readers with comments and compliments for my blogs and even requesting for me to do write-ups on certain topics pertaining to their interests!
Thank you thank you!!~ =D
19. My good old pal; my little camera finally rested in peace after serving me daily for 4 good years.
Goodbye, you will definitely be missed!~
20. Became the only lady left in a male-dominated working team after my senior left the team in January and contributed to the overall team achievement by bringing up Penang/Northern region in a year.
Tough year and I'd never have done it without the support from other team members, friends and my family!~
21. Submitted a tribute poem for MJ (King of Pop) to The Sun and it was published! With a credit note from the editor himself =)
Finally, my poetry is back with me...I am definitely gonna write more poems this year =D
22. Grandma was hospitalized for a few times this year; with the most serious case last month before Winter Solstice and I shall continue to pray for her health and well-being.
Hmmmmm.......that was probably the summary of what had happened over the last year...
I can't recall anymore....but that was the gist of the good and bad and things I remembered which I hope to change or maintain for the coming years...
It was definitely another great year...and I look forward to more!!~ =D
